Jimmie, I am grateful for the fig. It is a top taster no matter what it is called. Re-reading my initial post, I can see how I might have come off sounding snarky. Believe me, I didn't mean to. You have singlehandedly populated a good portion of my orchard, so I thank you.
This is the one that you gave me last year and was planted in the main orchard area. The Gino Black from earlier this year was planted in the hedge but it has not yet produced. Both are labeled with metal tags.
One of the characteristics of this fig is a tough skin (which I really like). When you take a bite, you know you've taken a bite and it adds to the whole tactile oral taste experience.
Jimmie, I don't have 6 of them but I do have 2 waiting for your taste test.
