Mission Breba

My Monrovia Mission has 1 breba i left on plant starting to ripen. Click to enlarge.

That would already have been eaten if that was on my tree.

Oh gosh no its still Raw inside and may taste like Rafed and BLB's favorite type of figs which are opposite color than dark. ; )

But any case breba are usually not so good here by me thats why i take them off my tree's.

Martin...

Just curious.  Do you usually let the breba get this large, or do you strip your trees before the breba can reach this stage of growth?

Thanks,
Frank

Hello Martin, My son took two Mission figs off a tree today. Him and my wife shared one and let me eat the other. Their taste buds say honey with maybe a touch of plum. I kinda agree. I did take a pictures of the one I ate, one whole and the other cut in half. I will try to post on sat. I will say it looked just like your picture.

Frank i take knock them off soon as they appear on any of my trees , i do once in a while leave one on here and there on different trees.
I also have one on my ronde and maybe another type of tree maybe my hardy chicago.

My next door neighbor ask me if he should leave a couple on his Vdb and i said sure so there growing nice and both our Vdb's have set nice main crop.

Hoping this is one with insides showing. Tried to put both on the last post but have to resize all pics. Right now my forehead is bleeding from smashing it against the desk top.

I know that feeling well....:-(

Luke thanks for showing your mission breba i do enjoy pictures.
Speaking of banging head and or getting blood on one i posted this few years back.

I once got poked in neck by my italian unknown and noticed short while afterwards i had blood on me from it . Darn tree failed to ripen any figs but 1 in four years despite best of my care root pruning etc etc.
That tree got chopped up and scion distibuted.

Then the tree spite me for getting rid of it when i should have burned it,  one receiving member told me there new plant they made ripened figs and asked you want to try again ?
NO i said.
Next plant that does not give me ripe figs like that goes straight to burn can no spiteing me.
I have one plant that may be a candidate this season or next.
I might have a nice talk with it tomorrow as once again its showing off its main crop just like the other one did.

Final pictures of lone breba fig, i was going to show someone the fig on tree and as we walked up to it it was not there and i just new it fell so picked up and took quick pictures and we each had a half .
He said hmm this is good and i said yes not bad but main crop is better and smiled.

Your fig was twice the size, but it only grew a penny. Looks very tasty.
