I have a small yard and would like to grow figs.  I have purchased a Vista Mission from Encanto Farms that I am planning to grow in a pot.  I do have one small area in the yard with excellent sun and soil.  I would love to plant a regular Black Mission fig in this site since it is such a productive species.  I know that the Black Mission is an exceptionally large tree, but my question is this:  Can you keep a Black Mission to a manageable size with aggressive pruning without overly stressing the tree?  Am I biting off more than I can chew by attempting this?
