Mission in New Jersey! -Pix

Look at The third picture:!!!This fruit I took out today
:It is Mission.
The color and taste is a little off but still very good for so late here.
Also The size is Much Larger than what Mission should be :(About 41 grams),Each, on main crop.
All the fruits on this tree were well over 80 grams up to 120 grams each,
I do not think it is because my soil is rich they grow so large.
I think thre is more than one strain of Mission, with some very large and some only medium.
I would like your opinion, specially from other people who got a Mission fig.
This fig is in third year.
I am absolutelly sure it is a Mission fig.
Here is the pix:

Looks much less dark skinned than the average Mission to me.

Yes, like the Celeste and BT figs there should be plenty of Mission
figs, considering that they were one of the earlest ones introduced
to USA, and since then they may most likely reproduced (hybrids?).

I do have a Mission fig from a very well respected/knowledgable
person possible; but has not fruited for me yet. I had asked for
the MOST typical Mission fig twig possible.

Certianly doesn't look like any Black Mission I have seen, or the "Mission" in the USDA collection, but perhaps the color has been affected by the climate.

George :It is less dark because the tree is young and this Sommer was soooo cold, rainy, and short here.
Also Mi first fruits at the end of August were eaten by Squierel, before I had a chance to see them fully ripe,or to get them myself.
So next I took pix before ripe so i beat the squierels to it.
I am sure next year they will look almost black.
The size of them is huge for a Mission, but the taste is there.
And The figs in the pixes are taken after the double rains we had in September when you had so many splits in your Pix.
It did not split, and did not sour at all, despite rain.
I really like it.

I Have Three cuttings out of this tree wich i would like to trade for other Mission Fig only to reaserch the Mission Type fig Farther.
So If you have a Mission fig,Different than What you see,in the Pix,here is your chance to aquire another strain of it.
