mold

Hello All,

 I unwrapped 3 in ground trees and they were covered with mold and soggy branches.Has this ever hapened to any other member and If so what can I expect,any help would be greatly appreciated.

The mold should die now that air and sunshine are getting to it. I think the trunk and root system are probably fine. Prune anything that is obviously dead or has serious damage where the bark is rotted and loose. You might check the trunks first though to make sure they survived. You can also just wait a while till new buds develop and then just prune above them. I had this happen on a young tree this year and I think you just never know until it starts to grow.
