Mondo fig leaves on Corky's Honey Delight

I got a new fig tree called Corky's Honey Delight.  It has leafed out and the size of the leaves are enormous.  I measured 13 inches top to bottom and 11.5 inches width. These are largest I've ever seen especially since I just put this in the ground about 1-2 months ago.  It's in San Diego.  No special soil or fertilizers either.

Some fig trees in there juvenile stage will get huge leaves and some not.
Last season i had 1 plants leaves that i took pic of completely covering the top of a 5 gallon bucket for fun
There is always the exception .

I think you sent me the Celeste cuttings.  They are doing great.

Glad to see there are more members in the San Diego area. I have a Corky's as well but the rats beat me to my first fig last year. Long Yellow also has had very large leaves.

Did you get a fig the first year you had it?   I would have been running screaming if I saw a rat on the fig tree.

Here's the progress of Corky's Honey Delight.  It's the healthiest looking fig I have with nice leaves.  Litttle figlets are forming.  Can't wait to try them.   One of the leaves has a little blue bug on it.  Anyone know what that is and if those are problem bugs.  The leaves look nice and healthy still, but I've seen some of these bugs hanging around.  Some are more green and some are more blue.   I think they either hop or fly.  They are pretty small, maybe half a centimeter.

I suppose Adam & Eve did use fig leaves if they were this size!!  ;)

Looks like a leafhopper.

What type of figs does Corky's Delight have on it?  Black, Red, Green, Yellow?  Flavor?  Are they HUGE too?

I think you are right about the leaf hopper.  That seems to be exactly what it is.   I looked "leaf hopper" up and that's exactly how they are.  They hop around and some fly.   Though their coloration is actually quite pretty.  They suck the plant juices and some exude sticky like honey which explains why there was some honey like stuff on one of the leaves and ants were surrounding it.   Hope it doesn't become a big problem for the tree.

As for the figs, I don't know anything about it.  I only have figlets forming.   I only heard from the nursery that people really like them.   Hoping someone else has info on them.
