Spotted on Hwy 69 out of Jacksonville Texas.

Tree was planted in 1973.

Owner is allergic to figs, grandmother picks figs.

This is the tallest fig tree I have ever seen.

Really too bad about the owner's allergy.

Thats really must have been amazing to see it in person

I wonder how much fruit something that size produces and how far the roots reach.

Don - good question  I picked 46 lbs in 1 picking from a Celeste that was only 9-10 feet.  The problem with this tree is that you cannot get to much of the tree without a bucket truck.

Can you imagine how many pounds of figs that thing produces each year! Wow,  wouldn't  you like him as a neighbor!
