monterey fig

This year someone beat me to giving my dad some figs trees for christmas.  I got him a few trees from Mr Robin (roots were fine for me).  Some one else bought him a lowes twenty dollar special, a monterey fig is what the tag says.  DOes anyone else know what else a monterey goes by?  Im going to take a shot in the dark and say its a BT but I can not find this varity listed anywhere.
Thanks guys.  I have some more photos to post this week.

The only thing that I've heard of that sounds kinda close is the Moreton Bay Fig. Its not a Ficus carica though.

Good Luck on your search,
Little John

For the huge Ficus.(x) species that exist in this good world, see:
http://www.figweb.org/Ficus/Species_index/index.htm
Thank God for the F.carica (specially for the "common" kind).

This tree has a couple of leafs, its definitly an edible fig.

Sorry,

I mistook the (confusing) name for something/similar
to the F.macrophylla; good luck.

Apparently, I have never heard of the monterey fig.

One/other possibilty:
Newly found unkown-figs tend to be named after
the town/place where they were fist discovered...

NP, thanks for the help anyway.  Ill wait till summer when it starts to grow and see if we can identify it.
