Moon mandating pruning time?

Watched a video, where the horticulturist talked about not to prune at the moon changing phase (that is below the equator)  Anyone here know about what the farmer's almanac calls for it?  Could pruning at that time influence the production of figs?

here is the lunatic take on it:

Grasa,
I could'nt understand the video either, but I'm posting this so I can change your reply count from a "0" to a "1".  Sorry to hear about the fungus gnat infestation, and really sorry to hear that you were considering giving up on figs, but then I got really, really happy to hear that you were "going to fight" to overcome the problem.  Wheewww !!!  The Forum would not be the same without you.

I have a friend who is into astrology:

There are a few simple rules to follow and it is not difficult. When the moon is in its waxing or growth phase (new – full), is the best time for planting anything that grows above the ground. This is also the time for cutting, trimming or pruning for regrowth.

From full to the next new moon is the waning phase and this is the time for planting anything that grows beneath the earth. It is also the best for pruning, trimming etc when you don’t want regrowth.

I have been using the Stella Natura calendar for many years. http://www.stellanatura.com/index.html
The most interesting and easiest to use of any I have seen.
Picture shows how it is set up.

I can't use the November page.
The ground is frozen here now.

Not so sure I believe in all that stuff, BUT, plane arrived late, so hoofing it to the connection gate, and this lady huffed next to me "I knew this would happen!  Mercury is in retrograde!"  I look at her puzzled.  So, now we get to the moving step thingy, and it's broken, so I huff back to her, "Will it still be in retrograde in 3 days?"  YIKES!!  That was a bad luck trip for sure!!

So maybe there is something to it!

Grasa,

I saw Vince's post that you were going to give up figs.  Really??  Don't you dare do it.  I don't give you permission : )  You are one of the most willing to experiment with techniques and share your results, good or bad.  I definitely agree with Vince, the forum would not be the same without you.  Where would we get all those great videos you find?

Steve, I am just disappointed, but I cannot give up, they did not, and now I have leaves sprouting with cinnamon, I continue monitoring closer now, I did not know of these creatures, so I did not check for them... Someone could put an alert about this for us newbies... I read so many materials, but nothing to 'warn' me that this is a possibility. Some people say it does not matter - they are devastating. Is it the manmade enviroment that is so suitable for them? Would plant in the field also suffer these kind of attacks?

in my country i been told that is best to strike cuttings just before full moon
