More Stella

Picked another Stella during the dry period we had and it was even better. Massive size fig. I don"t know if they will all be this size when the tree matures and produces more.

That's a beauty!  Thanks for sharing!

Looks amazing, Peter. Congrats!

OK, you'll be sorry you posted this  :)   I have a friend with several in-ground Stellas.  They never bear fruit.  His plants are easily 4-5 feet tall with plenty of branches.  The leaves are big, dark green and healthy.  When do yours start bearing (What month) and have you noticed anything that stops them?  Does lack of water keep them from bearing?  Thanks.

Ruben & Suzi thanks!

Bob, I bought my tree from Bills Figs this year, it was a 2 year old. So far it seems productive, in addition to the 4-5 figs it produced I picked off a similar amount that came to late. It started to bear in late August. I keep mine in a pot and have not noticed anything that keeps it from bearing (I water regulary) Perhaps others on the forum with more experience can provide more insight.

Mine is in ground ,it is 5 years old and as productive as it can be ,is only 4 foot high but it already had 30 extra large fruits ,ripe at this point.
I get about 4 fruits ,ripe each day.
This is a cultivar that should be in every backyard,I do not understand what Bob is talking about.
His friend might have a one a be Stella!
You want to see a pix of my tree.loaded with fruits?
Here it is.

Don't know why you guys are having problems with your Stella. Agree with Herman. Stella is awesome in my area. I have one in a pot and one in ground. Produces every year for me.
