Most anticipated fig for 2015

Which fig are you most looking forward to tasting in 2015?

For me - I have a tiny Black Madeira and CDDG.  So I really hope I get the chance to taste either one of these.

For me its my italian 258 and my ice Crystal then my grise then black madeira then my greeks then my spain figs. I can keep going but thats,my top

Richie

everyone of them, come on Mike, please don't make me choose!

I-258 and Vasilika Sika if they put out enough growth.  They're only 1 year old trees.

hopping to see my sofeno preto fruiting finally.

For me Black Madeira, last season it put out fruit to late and it did not have time to ripen. White Genoa ripened at the end of October (I know it can taste better)and Dezert King.

I'm to new to the hobby to be able to pick just one, so I am going with of my cultivars that ripen figs!!

I m with Scott. All figs taste unique and awesome to me. I never had a Lyndhurst White before or Atreano ,so I hope my cuttings survive and give me one to try! Or two or more!

Agreed with waynea, can't just pick one! I want to taste them all.

Hmm.  Difficult to say.  Last year a few big rains ruined 80% of my LSU purple crop, though it's supposed to get better with age, and be one of the better figs around (even though its quite common in the south).  My hardy chicago only made a handful of figs last year, and all were VERY figgy, but just lacked in sweetness.  I attribute it to being a 1st or 2nd year tree and those figs ripening pretty late in the year.  Of my cuttings...I doubt I'll get any figs, but if I do let any of them fruit, I want a JH Adriatic.  Never had an adriatic-style fig, and I hear it's one of the better ones out there.

My complete fave of 2014 was Mary Lane? seedless.  It isn't seedless, but it oozes honey, and is my fave!  I owe some cuttings to  a local vineyard in exchange for a fabulous day of wine tasting.  I think it's Mary Lane.  Not so sure.  But Verte will go to the vineyard too.  I owe them big time.

For me,

Its my Greek fig that I germinated from seed.  This summer will be its third year of growth from seed.  I germinated about 10.  Hopefully one turns out be fruit bearing.  Its a stark black fig with Burgundy red on the inside....well that was the fig I got the seeds from.

Beautiful taste.

Hopefully I will get something interesting.

I am hopeful that my baby JH Adriatic will produce a few figs to try.

This probably seems a bit strange but I'm looking forward to Brown Turkey just to know if I'm a lover or hater of it.

I know HC is a winner and hope for a few this year.  So many tried to make figs but I started late.  I just hope they come back from winter.

We have Voilette de Sollies, Sucrette, Voilette de Bordeaux ( several origins including UCD), Longue d'Auot, Sultane, Ronde de Bordeaux, Franks Salerno unk. that we're looking forward to their fruiting this year.

I can't wait to taste a properly ripened Vista. I harvested one last week that survived rain and frost. It was pretty beat up, but still yummy flavor. The real crop is going to bring tears to my eyes.

Figo Preto and/or Black Madeira.

All of them

Yeah that's a real hard decision but I did my VDB is the one I'm most anticipating...

DesterDance, it's great to see you posting again!

It would great to get a properly ripened Kathleen's Black.  This one was rooted in 2012 and it's due!

I have about 12 other figs that I should be able to taste for the first time too.

My husband is incredibly sweet and lucky for me, encourages me to pursue growing fig/fruit trees :). My first tree was a Sumacki from Bass that my husband got for me for Christmas in 2013. I can't wait to see how she does this year!

I'm looking forward to a mystery fig I got from bass two years ago. Its exciting thinking about what it could be...

The one that is not stolen by the squirrels !

All one of my hardy chicago if it didnt die back again this year. -25 wind chills last week may have done it in again although I did protect it this year.

For me, it's probably Galicia Negra.  My tree started out last year small but later had a fig develop that was ripening in August, I believe.  It was almost ripe and I came close to picking it but decided to give it a couple of more days.  It was completely gone when I returned two days later and it didn't form any more figs for the season.  I wish I had at least taken a photo so I could have stared at it some more!
