Last year White Genoa ripened very late and didn't have much flavor, this year it has already ripened and the taste was excellent. I didn't take a picture because I didn't think it would taste this good. I will for the next one that ripens. Definitley the most improved fig! Which is your most improved fig?

Panachee, but not for the same reasons.  It started in ground from a UC Davis cutting.  It got a couple leaves, then stopped.  Next year it got 3 leaves.  Finally I dug it up, put it in a pot with good soil, and it got 4 or 5 leaves.  Then stopped.  This year, after whining about it again on this forum, Jon suggested drowning it in water, waiting for a couple hours then hitting it with miracle grow.  When I took the pot over to the hose for the drowning ceremony, the pot was HOT!  I had been cooking it's roots!

It got moved to a shady spot, and has taken off like a rocket!  Still no figs, but hopefully next year!

Pete,
For me it was Mary Lane Seedless but only because I bought as a 2 year old in '07 and this is the first year it has given figs. They are wonderful and I will be rooting and putting in a second tree. I ordered cuttings from enchanto this year but they all failed (or I failed them . . .?). Flavor-wise of the trees I have that have some age on them and have been consistently producing this was my best year for Alma and LSU Purple. In general my figs were really good this year. We had a lot of heat and as mine are all in pots and watered daily all but a couple produced very sweet fruit. My 2 favorites from last year (Hardy Chicago and Conadria) did not show the improvements the others did.
