Wow, I really did not expect to see that color inside such a dark fig! Is this the same as the Beale FN? If so, then yay, I just got one of those!

I also have Beal / Beall and it's a good fig. Not of the flavor quality of the top notch figs, but probably second echelon.

The year before last I was able to pick a couple good-tasting figs from it in I believe January, which was a pleasant surprise.

Yup, dark red on the outside and white on the inside. That is part of its charm. I agree that it is nowhere near the Black Ischia/CCD echelon but definitely a keeper and perennially under-rated, IMO.

Wow, that's a neat looking fig...such a light interior. Thanks for sharing!

Your #1 underrated looks a 100 times better. Hopefully this is better than it looks.

That's certainly unique.  I don't think I've seen another fig with purple/white colors like this.

Frank,
thx, I'm now much more likely to put an organza bag over a few of my Beals as that is one nice looking fig.

The inside looks delicious.

I don't have a Beal, but I do love the Honey type figs.  Could you describe it's flavor?  I know, I always ask...  Vintner... We like to know the tones........

Frank, is that a Beale or Beale FN and do both have the same color inside? I have both.

My Beale is very productive, but none are ripe just yet. Glad to hear you rate it well. I'm anxious to see what it tastes like. I didn't know it was so light inside, really nice contrast.

Another I am in complete agreement with (HC the other - hope to be more impressed with Ischia Green this year than I was last year when it was only okay). I like Beale so much I have two. It is very sweet, but in a unique way I can't quite articulate. I know I've written about it before on the forum and described it better...or maybe that was in emails with other members. Perhaps when mine start ripening in another two or thee weeks and the taste is fresh in my mind a better description will spill forth from my fingers. Bottom line is it's a fig worth owning.

Don't be put off by the color of the flesh. Mine have a slight blush to the flesh that Frank's don't have, likely relating to different growing conditions. It does, however, make them a bit more attractive to look at.
