my 2014 fig forest

It's not much, but i'm slowly adding to it.

The one in the big pot on the far right is Celeste with about 50 figs on it.

Pretty sweet man. I see you have elected to prune your trees into "tree form" instead of bush. Curious if this is the case, and if so, are you doing it for aesthetic reasons?

FWIW, I prefer the look of a "tree form" myself, although it may sacrifice some fig production opposed to bush form.

Looks like about 33 pots which is not a bad start James.

Nice collection of figs James...happy to hear you have 50 figs on that Celeste...that's a nice sweet fig...(by the way, who sells those blue barrels?)...I like the idea of those rope handles...have a great Summer.

Great Looking Stuff, Thanks for Posting.

Very nice. How big is your yard?

Very Nice James, I love seeing everyones collection and how their yards have been taken over by our crazy obsession

I rather have one tree with 50 figs on it than to have 20 trees with no figs.
Looking good there.

Awesome! I aspire to be there one day soon =)

Really nice trees.

Healthy looking trees James.

Looking good there Joe, keep those updates and pix coming in. Celeste with 50 sounds pretty darn tasty!

That looks great!  Mine are all pretty small....had to start over after a bad winter two years ago.

Looks like you have a lot more room there for a few more fig trees

I've not done any special pruning.  Those two tall ones were tall when I got them.  Those were the first two that I bought from Ison's Nursery last year, just before I found this site.

The yard is bigger than average. But I have to be careful, my wife know how to build a campfire.  She counted the pots this morning.  Just over 40 (I added a few more to the forest after this picture).  I'm pretty much corralled to that one corner of the yard.  I might get a way with planing a couple in the front yard.

Lowes and Home Depot both carry them.  I've seen some black ones on Walmart.com.

Just on the bottom edges.. Four 3/4" holes, if i remember right.  None underneath, didn't want the roots to decide to grow into the ground.  I usually get used pickle buckets from local Deli's.. (McAlistor's or Schlotzkie's)
