Our local nursery has some poison that comes in a yellow paper pouch that sells for about a dollar or so a bag. They warned me that all animals will eat it (racoons,opossums, etc). The property that runs adjacent to mines is overgrown with an old run down house covered in vines and bushes so the rats come out the woodworks. All I did was put out a few of those yellow pouches and I haven't seen any since. I know a lot of people here are against poisons but I wouldn't have gotten rid of the rats any other way and I was stopping them before they moved in my house. Next time I go to the nursery I will get the name of it cause it works wonders.

Try eating the Rat, I heard it tastes good after feeding it figs.

That rat barely looks like a juvenile.  Rat families have a mommy, daddy and 5-7 juveniles.

I never touch them with my hands. I load them on the shovel and they fly away.

The picture was great and you looked very scary.  Hopefully there is not a mom rat coming for you. 

I am pretty sure this was the only rat in my shop.  I still have several glue traps and snap traps and will keep those in place.  The rat is on his way to the landfill!
