The one on top is Hardy Chicago and the rest are Malta Black. As of today it is my best producer and without a doubt the best tasting. It has held up with all the rain and kept its great taste and not watered down. It is still a 9 on a 1-10. I will be making an airlayer for back on this one. There are still a lot of figs to ripen, but they will have to get going to be as good as this one, even the Black Madeira. The HC was good but, wellllllll.

Malta Black is a great fig for sure

In a pot, It's a late started cutting from last year, but it has a couple figs. Next year or 2 it will go in ground after I establish a airlayer as a potted backup. That's my plan for most my figs. I have only a couple plants in ground this year as just moving here this year. Hoping for a couple more winters like the  last couple for ingrounds to get established better.

Mike, Glad to hear that you rate it so high. It gives me something to look forward to next year, only 12 more months or so until I can taste one of my own.

Mike just goes to show taste is subjective as i also have Malta Black , Hc, and Maderia.
