this is my set up. i have another bin that goes on top of the bins with older cuttings and full top. 

 

you can see there is no issue with branching out or the top hitting the lib. once the little ones are starting to put on the top, they go into bigger set up. 

 

little ones don't need light, so you can see this one doesn't need double bit set up. 

 

Pete, I see, now, what you are saying about the early leafing not being problem... although they look not healthy , just like you said, they will drop and replaced by new one as you take them out to open air later.

i wish the leaves look healthy, but that means light set up. or daily fig shuffle. i'm too cheap to do light set up and i'm too lazy to do daily fig shuffle. so, i wait till next yr for the good leaves.
