I purchased two fig plants from Cory & Vinnie (johnsvmf1) on eBay auction a couple of weeks ago and both arrived a great and healthy condition. They even included 4 free cuttings of different varieties in the shipment. They also included and $10 refund check since the shipping cost was not as expensive as they thought it would be. Currently both plants are doing excellent.
Last Thursday (10/4/12) I just received another fig plant from them and again with 4 extra free cuttings. The box was a little beat up. When I took the plant out of the box, I noticed that the plant was moving almost freely in the pot. So, I took the soil and plant out of its pot and the soil just crumbles with some roots in it, but the roots were not attached to the plant. I only see around 3 or so roots about an inch long still attached to the plant. I was really worry about this plant. So I emailed them about my concern. I was expecting to have to mail back the plant to get a full refund or pay more shipping for a replacement. To my surprise, I got an email back from them in the morning apologizing for the problem. They also immediately refunded the full amount of the payment and I get to keep the plant and the cuttings. They suggested to treat the plant as a cutting and remove most of its leaves.
I was not their mistake at all but they did the right thing. I guess UPS tossed around the box too much during shipment. I emailed them back and told them that I will not deposit they $10 refund from the previous purchase and I will destroy the check. I hope that will cover some of their cost of shipping the plant to me. I'm an extremely happy customer and will definitely purchase more figs from them in the future.
If you are purchasing anything from Cory & Vinnie "johnsvmf1" on eBay, don't hesitate, they will treat you right!
