Over kill you say. The gnats are disappearing pretty quick.
I am only watering when absolutely necessary and using a syringe in one of the side holes in the plastic cups. When I do water, they get a little drink of Gnatrol which is BT

Send out the troops!! Keep us updated on the casualties. You can't be to protective when it comes to figs, it's definitely an all out war.

I'm with Jennifer!  I just get them drunk with a drop of soap into some wine or apple cider laced with sugar.  Then I don't have to try to feed another plant.  Not enough flies here to do that job.
