My figs

The pic are cuttings that i took from the same tree that i am air-layering. the both grow roots pretty nicely. This are by far my favorite of all my other cuttings because they both will possibly grow multiply branches. I have no problem with mold as i though i would with green cuttings. How long will it be before those buds open up? I have other that are starting to open up but don't have such a good roots system. Could I pot them now or do I wait until a little later?

The next three are of a cutting that I received in the mail form a member. the cutting is growing roots finely with no problem but it has no signs of any buds. I took a picture of both sides to show that I can't find any buds at all. Could they be under the dirt? If not are figs capable of growing new buds from the nodes?

AFB

Keep doing whatever you have been doing to them baby's

when the cuttings decide to leaf out they will!

Good job (they look great to me)

ok i will keep it up then but what about the other one. Will it die if it doesn't produce any kind of green?

I really think they will bud out, and pretty soon.
and yes they can bud out at the nodes.

thx for your help

AFB, your welcome.

Martin the cuttings were "choice" (Good stuff)

ooooooppps i didnt't even see the list that you posted, my bad

How long will it take for these buds to open up, normally I wouldn't mind waiting but I would like them to open up before I leave for the military. When they open and start growing it will be easier on my dad when he takes care of them, all he'll have to do is water them every couple of weeks or so. If I give them a very very diluted dose of fert will that encourage them to wake up....I'm going to wait for a few more weeks since there is some time until august 11th. I just don't understand why they won't wake up, their roots are growing just fine, at the same time I have two other cuttings that are leafing out but barely have any roots at all. So I am playing the waiting game since i can't rush nature.

Here is one of my only cutting that started to grow leaves. It hasn't grown much in the time it's first leaf grew. I wondered why for a long time now until i took the picture. The flash on the camera made it clear that the soil was under watered. I couldn't see this a first until I took the picture. I emptied out some of the soil and most of it was dry, some of the roots started to dry  out also.

This is another cutting that has been doing well. It's roots seems to grow about 2-3 inches a day and now seems to grow out of the cup. Soon i will have to pot it deep or clip them to promote branching out. Why do they grow up when gravity is supposed to pull them downward.

Looking good, way to go, Killer roots

The last one with roots growing out of cup i would pot up.

yeah maybe i should....i need to buy some more supplies first

AFB,

Nice rooting work. Do not fertilize them until they are potted up and putting out good growth otherwise you will risk burning those tender new roots. When you start fertilizing, start with a 25-50% diluted miracle grow every 1-2 weeks following a good watering. I would also not prune anything at this point until the plants are much larger and stronger. I would wait until the end of the growing season before you prune or in the spring. Good luck.

This is my fig that I received from Sue. This thing have been giving me problems but now it is growing. I followed the advice I received by putting it in some sort of container to build up humidity, the leaves are so soft that when I removed them from the container the wilted and curled in seconds. I put it back in to allow it to recover. I hope this plant don't get used to living in this camber forever. Being unable to take it out without it dying will make it hard to harden off.
