I have a Neri 1, Kadota fig, Magnolia fig, Syrian Long, Alma, Chicago Hardy, Dominick, Italian Honey, and Palermo Red. Do any of these need Caprifigs? These are the names I were given when I received the plants/cuttings. Anyone that has experience growing these please tell me about them. Thanks. Sorry I'm a noob.
No
Oh okay but I found a previous post that said Syrian long needs a caprifig.
Regardless of if they need a caprifig or not, you have no fig wasps in NJ and never will without a mega year round climate controlled greenhouse. As far as the Syrian Long is concerned, a quick search http://figs4funforum.websitetoolbox.com/post/need-information-about-syrian-long-figs-5910434 (post #5) found a post by Bass stating that his ripens fruit in Pennsylvania.
Yes to post #2. :)
Which needs the wasp

Dominick, Neri 1, Chicago Hardy, Palermo Red, Kadota, Magnolia, Syrian Long, Alma, Italian Honey, possibly Cbdb, which of these figs will survive my zone without protection in winter?
The Dominick's and Chicago Hardy should 'survive' inground without protection once the roots are big enough (say, 3-4 yrs old) but they will likely die back to the roots with hard winters, might even kill the roots in a very severe winter without any protection.Don't know the Neri1, cant vouch for any of the others.
Oh okay thanks
Okay thanks I was just wondering bout winter hardiness I'll probably plant the Syrian long in the ground because I have. A succrete that rooted and anyone have any idea how Hardy a succrete is?
Yea I was confused about it
