This past week, I was checking for some fig trees at my local Home Depot here in Texas and I came across this Celeste Fig tree that had some figs on it. Having seen my Celeste tree in a container drop all its fruits, I decided to purchase this one also. Today I had my first Celeste fig. Small but very sweet. Someone said that the uglier the fig is, the tastier it is. I have no complaints about how this fig tastes.
I must say I discarded the outer skin and it pealed easily. On the inside it was soft and very sweet.

They look delicious!

I managed to sample an improved Celeste fig today it came from a cutting that I bought on eBay.

It is larger than Celeste but considering it is the first fig on this plant it's hard to tell.

The regular Celeste was smaller but sweeter.

This improved Celeste had more green color in it. Perhaps it wasn’t ripe enough.

Thanks for sharing.  They could probably sell more trees if they would wait until they have fruit on them.

Now I know why they call it improved.
I'm ready to give away my Celeste if any one wants it it's ready for pick up.
