Yellow Lebanese. It was grown from cutting this past winter. It was from Marius. Excellent flavor and Very sweet. I don't know if I picked it too early or not. I'm still learning to time it just right. Atreano. It was bought as a plant from johnsvmf1 last October, I think. Sweet, but not as sweet as Yellow Lebanese. Maybe I should leave it to ripen a little longer. Very good flavor and crunchy. My friend describe it as... creamy??

Not ripe enough. They will taste better if you let them hang longer. Here is an example. (dark fig);

Ed,Now that is ripe.. or maybe too ripe?? I have a few more on the tree to experiment. I know some varieties are best to pick after they shriveled a little.
I like mine a little wrinkled but there shouldn't be any white sap when they are ripe.

i like mine just after the saps are no longer there when cut open. some figs get down right hard to handle if left on the tree too long.
Live and learn. See how on the lower left of the atreano the pulp is yellowish while near the neck it's white? You want that yellow all the way up to the neck. I leave mine on until it falls off when moved. I don't pull them off unless they're wrinkled and leaning against the branch. If the neck is drooping and the fig is soft I'll move them a little and if they fall into my hand I know they're ripe. If they've been very soft for a few days and it's hot I might pick a little early to prevent souring, especially if the eye is open. If you have a variety or climate that tends to sour the figs then you have to balance that out and perhaps pick a little earlier.
Daniel - Just rabbit manure and lime. Well, one time I also sprayed it with miraclegrow.Bob - Thanks for the tips. I'm glad I still have many left on the Atreano branch to experiment. I only had 1 Yellow Lebanese to try.
