I started this variety from cuttings last year and noticed this ripening fig so I brought it into the lean to for protection.  It needs to be up potted but the fig was figgy and jammy but I need more to be able to describe it.

Anyone has both Macool & Salem Dark ? There is a possibility Macool is Salem Dark.

We need to find an economical way of testing to find out like varieties with different or unknown names. I believe most growers feel the same as I do, very few that hope we never find out. I am sure I have some that are the same variety with different names, and I am sure I am not the only one. Maybe a foundation for testing, 5000 members on F4F, $10 each could test a lot of plants, or at least the plants that so many of us have questions about. Okay, maybe it's a long shot, maybe I'm dreaming, and I don't smoke....anything! So I can't be accused of hallucinating.
