my first ripe fig. Bisirri 1 or 2?

well good thing is I had my first ripe fig of year. this is a main crop fig, taste was really good. I see there is a ton confusion over these figs of what's what. I think I have a dark, but it was sold to me a light. anyone from the Philadelphia area please chime in, to help me clarify what I actually have.

I have a 2nd year Bisirri "large" (which I think has also referred to as "dark") that I should get main crop fruit from in a few weeks for the first time.  I'll post the results.  It might be helpful if you also posted a couple representative leaves of yours for identification purposes.

yeah I'll try that as well, I take a few pictures of the leaves tonight when I get home.

Chris, it is an excellent tasting fig!  Mine fruited a few days ago.  I think mine is Bisirri 1.  I have 3 of them.  They are definite keepers.

I have a Bisirri #2 and Bisirri #3  at least that's how they came labeled to me.  The #2 has fruited for me this season pics below. The #3  will fruit later this season for me. The #2 is a nice fig.  I think I remember reading the light was not actually light adding to the confusion.

Nice looking fig!
Does Bisiri produce any brebas?

No Breba on either of mine yet.  This is 1st year fruiting for me, from cuttings started spring 2014.

Thanks Phil.

This is my first year with the tree as well. I purchased it from Mr. Bisirri directly in May, and I was told it was 3 years old. I have a light, and I got my mother a dark which I will eventually get around try to get a air layer from her.

when I spoke to them about their trees, the dark and light, they say there is no third available, but after searching this topic numerous times on the forum I see that there has been a few that slipped in since they keep friends tree's in the green house over the winter. I also noticed a 6 foot Panache growing in a pot not for sale so yes it seems easily possible for this to happen.

It is very productive, I have had three figs for myself the squirrels got a bunch and now I have 5 in bags ripening not to mention a bunch more still not ready to get the back treatment yet.

I didn't have any Breba on mine when I purchased it, and I did see the mother tree's and I didn't notice any on them either.

also Phil yes all the figs are dark, none of them are actually a green/light fig, the inside is lighter than the other.

Yes the old threads  discuss Mr. Bisirri stating they only have the 2, and storing other folks figs over winter in his greenhouse. I received both mine from Ricci in those threads. I have 2 of each what he called #2 and #3.  one of  each in ground and one still in pot. I do think I have 2 different figs as both the #2 fruited some this year, whereas both #3 have yet to, but will this later year. The leafs  on my inground #3 matches the  #3 photo in the old thread, but my #3 in pot looks very close to the #2 in pot right beside, but does show some leaf like my other #3. Interested in what Barry, Ricci or the others think about the different ones after growing them a few years.
