My first rooted cutting

Been a long wait. This my first rooted cutting. It is a Blue Giant, I got the cutting from Ebay a few months ago. I put it  into this this cup made for a soda bottle. Used sifted purlite and fine graval. Put the cup in a zip lock bag. Could see roots after a few weeks. Started getting it out in early morning sun and then back into the bag. The leaves started growing into the bag and truning brown!!! New leaves look just fine. I sprayed the clear cup with paint to keep the sun from roots. I started getting it out more and more. Now it stays out all day, I this hot west TX dry air. Will repot it next week into a one gallon super air pot. I have several more to get out of bags and do this way.

Update 5/1/2013
Put plant into super air pot.

Congratulations, a nice sense of accomplishment with the first one. Won't be long before you're cranking out rooted figs left and right

Congrats on your success!

Congratulations!  Soon you'll be looking for land to plant your 397 trees on!

The first of many!  : )

Nicely Done!!!

Thanks for all the info and support. I have land that is dry and hard to grow on so will take the fig addiction slow and easy. I already have 10 plants and 15 or so more cuttings rooting. So I guess I have the fig problem as said. Will post again on day soon.
