I want to start out by acknowledging the forum as a whole for "teaching" me how to do this. I lurked for months before joining. Of course I must be extra thankful to the 2 generous members gifting me EBT, Unk Purple, LSU gold, and Smith.Overall I wasn't as successful as I wish I had been. My biggest loses were when I tried rooting directly into pots with 511 mix, should have worked, but didn't, won't try again until I have lots of extra cuttings.
This how I was most successful. Some are really slow for me, MVSB for example. Straight perilite.Still waiting on Smith, Sultane, MVSB, JH Adriatic
Nicely done Don!
Perlite in bags in a plastic box with maybe a humidity cover never seems to miss.
Don,It's all trial and error and what works for you. I recently got smacked hard with the error part of it. I decided to try the U-line bags with my cuttings I bought from John. BIG MISTAKE. Most of them rotted (and I'm sure it was something I did wrong) :-( For me, sphagnum moss is the way to go. I've had great success with that. We'll just be happy with the ones that grow and learn from our mistakes and do what works for us. It's great fun, isn't it? This forum is a great bunch of people!
Great Job Don!! Nice green babies!! Good Luck! :)
Excellent !! Good luck with them.
Good work! Hope they produce well for you!
Thanks for posting, Hope the Best.
Great work!
The cuttings that did root look really nice, good job!
Strong work, I never got Smith to grow once it sent out a few roots in the moss. Lost 3 cuttings of it but Im sure it was my fault. Sultane rooted really strong for me and I had one potted up then my dog got ahold of it. One more cutting of Sultane left!
Thanks. The Sultanes I got from Fatnsassytexan are exploding, they are by far the healthiest most robust cuttings to date (and I'm sure the time of year helps). How frustrating, Dog? Sounds like you got a goat :) Better luck next time!Going crazy babying them.
