Here's a grafting method similar to a "Whip and Tongue" graft, but this is changed a bit so the scion and the rootstock have more contact on all sides. I graft all types of fruit trees using this method. I just grafted a cutting of a Fig on a large fig tree that lost its tag. We'll see how well it will take.
I call it a Z graft.
