My Hottie

Warming up the fig garage...She is a sweetie. She will melt the snow off the roof no problem and warm the whole place up in an hour or two.

I have the 150.000 btu. Works very good. Burns up some diesel.

Careful, Rich...don't get them too warm or they'll break bud on you!!!
I notice you still have some figs on some of the trees.  Some are very close to being ripe -- are they ripening for you slowly but surely?  How about the green ones?  Are they a white variety, or are they just farther from being ripe?
...I put a couple of trees away with one or two figs on them -- I just haven't gotten around to taking them off.  Based on what you say, maybe I won't!
Cheers,
Jim

Those figs won't ripen. I just leave them on until the spring and then take them off. They are Battaglia or Negronne

Very nice and looks toasty.

Seems like a good opportunity to roast some marshmallows as well.

Carbon monoxide hazard?

I have not had that issue with this garage. It's a little "porous". By next year I will have a new window, a modern insulated side door and insulation on the ceiling. We are also considering running a natural gas line so I can install a forced air furnace to keep the garage at or slightly above freezing.

Saturday I found a K1 pump locally. It's $4.99/gal as compared to $10/ gal in jugs at Home Depot.
It really made a difference compared to the "kerosene" of unknown quality (K2 maybe) at another station closer I had been buying kersosen from.

The K1 smells sweet and the other stuff smells oily and more stinky. The K1 does not have nearly as much odor after its burned

The Reddy Heater thermostat works well once you find a good location for it and get it dialed in. The printed temperature numbers on it are off.so I'm using a digital thermometer to set it
