My little babies

Looking good Eden.  Those lights really seem to help. All I have at this time is 3 or 4 hours of sunlite through the dining room window. And although they are growing and staying alive, they dont look anywhere near as strong and vibrant as yours. Maybe next year.....lights will be on my list to Santa.

Very impressive

WOW!  Very, very nice.

Eden, the leaves of pic 029 are awesome.   Must make a marvelous tree !

I agree, what variety is 029?

Looking awesome Eden.

On pic. 029 is AFGHAN FIG.

It will be nice to see how it continues to grow, please shows up more picture of it, later on.  Hope the fruits are as nice as those leaves.

My babies are going strong and some of them start forming fruit, one of them is Italian Unknown (Calabria) on first pic. and  Qalaat al Madiq  on second pic. I know I should not let them fruit but I have double plants of this varieties and I will let one plant produce some figs.

very nice indeed. i hope to get a camera soon so i can show my little ones off. dog chewed on my cell phone and lets just say she made sure to get the lens

I use my smart phone for all pictures and don`t have to think any more to about taking camera with me any more.

Looking good, can't wait to see what happens for you this summer.

Eden,

Just want to make sure I understand you correctly.  The Italian Unknown (Calabria) and Qalaat al Madiq were started from cuttings in mid-Nov 2012??

Steve,
I looked back at my "Free Cuttings" topic. He started it in October sometime.

You're right Art, the photos show leafs in mid-Nov so they were started earlier, but still that seems like amazing growth for 4 months.  Then again I'm new to all this so maybe there are some varieties that really do grow like weeds.

I do know one thing is that the Unknown Calabria is a fast grower. I have a bunch that I started about that time. I left a few figs on a couple, they will be ripe before summer starts.

Eden

Given the healthy green leaf anf fig production on your babies, what type of fertilization regime are you using? i' m assuming you are starting to use some? If so I'd really be intereste in knowing your techniques. Many thanks!

Thank you all.

Art I receive your cuttings in beginning of October and I have them in fridge for 4 weeks. Also When I receive Qalaat al Madiq in first week of November I start to root Calabria as well at some time. So far Unk. Calabria is fastest to root and grow then any other fig I ever see.

Mark after I transplant them from the cups I was using just water (don`t remember 2 or 3 times) Then I start to water with Miracle gro all purpose plant food. I dissolve the recommended amount for one gallon in to 3 gallons of water  and water 2-3 times then I use half recommended amount 2-3 times. Now I am using  full amount.

Eden, many thanks. Your plants look great. Mine are a bit earlier on, but I figured it too early to apply any fertilizer. Here's a quick shot of my cuttings

What kind of enclosure are these boxes in?  looks like a radiant barrier sheet?  What temp does it keep the plants?
