My Noire de Caromb

Here is noire de caromb shown in dated pictures when first received and several months later.
It did show very very fainting of virus early and i knew it was just a matter of time to show itself well.

Hopefully it will grow out of the virus.

Not certain if I am remembering this correctly,
But is this fig and Kathleen Black one and
the same?

Martin,

Your NDC has come along way. Besides the FMV the plant is looking good.
Hopefully in time the FMV will go away.

I am confident you can achieve this.

Good luck

Nick i really do not know i never grew a kathleen black i heard it mention it may be something in another thread not sure if it may be this type or another type .

Rafed,
next season i'm cutting down a lot on the Mg fertilizer as i will be growing more and more in organic humus, organic compost/manure with much less peat in the mix i make and some perlite. Im gonna make it a much heavier type mix.
The peat tends to be hydropobic and can compact unless constanly kept damp it will repel water , a old timer mention this to me this season and it makes perfect sense from what i have been seeing all along.

Maybe why Miracle grow mix and other brands now put a wetting agent in there bags i dont really know. But i dont mind changing things up as i keep open mind for learning.

Im not going organic but the price is in my ballpark.
I'm trying to see if less fertilizer will help since mix will have the compost/manure in it, i will continue useing the superthrive though.
Thanks

Martin,

Hope what ever you do works for you.

I did not mention yesterday that I visited Sue and she gave me one in a 1gl. pot. Looks great in my opinion compared to the way she described it. She did a good job. It is from one of the cuttings I gave her last season, she gave me a couple from another source which I also failed to root.

Thank you Sue!

I still should be getting more cuttings from elsewhere later. I want to give it another shot or two in trying to root from cuttings. One stop trying.

Rafed you do not have noire de caromb ?
As you know where i got mine it's parental came from city Caromb i found out.   ' )

I'm sending you PM.

Edit:
Disregard PM i reread thread now that i have my senses back from the smack i took from my Sals branch as i was watering it.

Hint when watering large trees and bending over , when done do not straighten up too fast especially with no hair to soften the blow.

I am aware of low branches. Just ask Adriano.

Here's a couple pics of my new NDC from Sue.
