My (OLD) NEW TOY

Guys,

Every once in awhile I scan out Craig’s list Two weeks ago I saw the item below posted for sale. Did not think much about it after that just the other day a thought came into my head. I might be able to use that thing.

I went back to the list and did a search for it and it was still available. Called the guy selling it turned out to be just two miles from me. Next call was to my friend to see if we can go get it with his truck.

Next thing I knew it was in my driveway and I started repairing it. One of the load wheels was frozen. Took it off of the unit and found the part I needed on line. It is on its way to my house at this time.

I THINK this will make the job of taking my fig trees in and out of my garage a little easier. I should be able to take two or three of the 20 gallon tubs at one time and four or five of the five gallon containers depending how large the trees are. My wife already got a pallet for me which I will store outside against the garage wall through the winter months.

If the wheel was good I could have used it taking the trees out for I hope is the last time this season.

Luck with your crop

Lou

Congratulations on your new toy!  The secret to Craigs list is an open mind and a creative brain!  Have fun with that toy!

Cool... Always rewarding to find good, used stuff. :)

What a great idea Lou !
Now I want a pallet jack too.

Figs are worth it. Why not build a garage with an opening/closing cover?

Like this. ;)

Do you think you will get several pallets so wheeling t hem in and out is just a matter of moving pallets and not lifting/pulling them onto and off of a pallet?

Great setup Lou great.

I will just tilt the trees backward them pull them up on the pallet. I have been doing that for years but the way I had been doing it I could only handle one at a time (the larger tubs). Then when the trees are on the pallet then I will jack it up and pull it to where on my driveway I want that tree then lower the pallet and reverse the operation getting them off. The smaller pots I can lift them and place them on the pallet but I will be dealing with three or four of them at a time.
I like that open air stadium look---will it work on my garage? Hmmmnnn
