My packages arrived today, Yes.......

Hello to All, I just wanted to share a few pics and My experience in ordering My new additions which arrived safely today.
I started collecting Figs 4 months ago. I actually had a brown turkey fig in My garden for over 3 years and I have so enjoyed it so much even those that visit My garden that I decided to learn and add a few more varieties.

So I had two online orders that I was waiting for. One from Almost Eden and the other from ( I'm not going to say because I actually was not happy with what He sold Me for a one gallon Scott's Black. And My intention is to share something positive)

Well the pic with the five plants were sent to Me from John at Almost Eden. I ordered a Celeste, Black Mission Fig, LSU Gold and an LSU Purple.
I received a call from John this past Monday to inform Me that the LSU Purple was not up to par for a one gallon Fig and He offered to give Me another Fig along with the order so after Our conversation about different varieties I decided to go with the LSU Champagne.
I like many of You I'm sure have been misled and have purchased items from online stores that were not to Our liking in the past. So I just wanted to share My Positive experience with Almost Eden with You All and the wonderful Fig Plants that He sent Me.

Now the second pic is the Scott's Black that I received from Another source online. The stem is not even 5 inches and has minimal growth. Unfortunately it was sold as a 1 gallon fig tree.

So on the Bright side My Fig collection is getting there and I look forward to tasting them and also continue to Learn about other varieties that will do good here in Hot, Humid, wet Central Florida.

Well Happy Growing and Gardening to All.
Many Thanks to All and to those that maintain this Great Forum.

Congrats on your new plants, Hector. Hope they turn out well for you. Good luck!

John is a SUPER NICE Guy!

(We, Wife & I) have been to his place!

It's so nice when you are happy with your order!  Congratulations!

Those are some great plants.  To be honest, the ones that you're happy with probably have already outgrown their 1 gallon pots.  I would have those in a 3 to 5 gal pot.  You might want to check the roots.  They probably need to be untangled.  I'm not criticizing the seller, those are great looking plants, a spectacular deal and shipping gallon pots is much cheaper than 3 gal pots.  But to optimize their growth you need to take some steps.  It's the same thing you'll have to do periodically on all your plants.  You may find that the smaller plant already has roots out to the edge of its container as well.  Please be sure to read posts by Al Tapla on soil before you pot up   :)  The wrong soil can kill your figs.

I sell my gallons just like your Scott's Black but I send people a photo of their plant so they know what they're getting before they say yes or no  :)  Scott's Black is harder to come by than your others so it may be more expensive.  Also, we small time growers have much higher cost per plant than the big guys.  So even though you didn't get it from me, you may not have gotten ripped off as badly as you think  :)

I've never heard of Almost Eden so I'm going to check them out.  Thanks for the tip!

Bob sells great figs when he has them as well. I got a beautiful plant from him just last week.
