My preferred rooting method

Greetings All

Just a quick update on my success of using Jason's buried rooting technique. This is a Ventura, putting out roots and a small stem, leaf bud.

Very nice! Now pot it up.

Greetings All

Just wanted to share a picture and update progress from my posts in this thread. Here we are just about three weeks from Pst No. 49. These cuttings are pretty much holding their own.

Looking good. At this point you should be home free. They look hardened off to sunlight already which is the last hard step.

A slight twist i tried was to moisten the medium (mostly perlite) with water that had a dilute liquid rooting hormone rather than straight water,   worked well had GREAT root growth

Jason,

did not see where you posted the results of your scoring tests...

Greetings

Just providing some additional pictures and status of cuttings started with Jason's buried technique. The only problem I have had is that the roots really bury down and start to grow into the soil. When it's time to up-pot, they don't easily release from the soil mixture. Big advantage, i put them straight into one gallon pots from the pictured stage, with great success.

Note the Madeline de Deux that was started this way, looking pretty good!
