My project this weekend

I used 32oz Japanese ramen to go cups and drilled drainage holes.  I also made 2 cuts down the side of the container so that I can easily open them later on.  The cups were then filled with a mix of perlite and Pro-Mix (with biofungicide and mycorrhizae).

The cutting that I got from generous members on this forum (thank you Danny and Aaron!!!) were inserted into the cups.

The cups are now resting in the plastic bin inside the house.  I will provide updates later on in this thread.

Good luck in rooting those cuttings, Linda!

The cup peiced back together nicely. I seen someone on a topic that did that with a air layer. Good work. When they are rooted well show us a pic of it opened up. My cutting have been rooted for two months with lots of leaves but it see no roots. Strange

Hey Linda, nice work!

Linda,
is that my thumb in the first pot? ;)
Which one is it?
I put my name on all my cuttings but there is a name on the cutting too, LOL

Darn, what a great idea to slice them in half and then use rubber bands.  I never thought of that.  Been fighting with them trying to get the cuttings out when the time comes.

WHat do you use to slice them.  Just a regular knife?  Mine are pretty heavy duty and hard to cut.

Rob,

Do you have access to a band saw?  Nice straight thin line if you do, also much faster than many other ways.

Rob, I just used my kitchen shears, they can cut through chicken backbones.  :)

Good luck with your new cuttings

root root root.

I'm rooting for you cuttings.

I'm new here, and  good luck in rooting  with your new cuttings!

When I tried to cut mine with scissors they tended to crack instead of cut cleanly.  Left sharp edges, etc.  And no, don't have a band saw, unfortunately.

The Sweet Diana Unknowns look great!  Nice work with the cup.  I love it!  Good Luck!
