I while back i decided to find a new way to root cuttings that worked for me. I also needed a new way to root them once I'm in the military with limited time, space, and freedom to do what I want. I used one of my brother's protein power containers because it was thick enough to keep the temp from jumping around and deep enough not to dry out at all. I think I am going to call this one stick -n- forget since i did forget about it for awhile.



I got this ideal after reading almost every one of Dan's post about rooting. I thought why not come up with a way to expose as many nodes as possible to soil while keeping moister even. I didn't have the resources to construct a chamber. I would have put the top on but on cutting was sticking out....because the top was off air was sucked down into it.



I squeezed about 5 cuttings into it one was even my favorite multi-branched style to promote bushiness. It only took about 2 weeks to get done so now I will pot each in its own cup or pot if I find something. Some were already leafing out beneath the soil.



The only problem i have now is trying to get them out without tearing the roots which were branching nicely also. Some of the bigger roots have bonded with the bottom, i even bagged it on the computer table and still it didn't come out. But other than that I say it was successful, I just have to reinsert 3 that were not buried deep enough now.

About how damp do you have that potting soil?

In other words moist, barely damp or what?

I fully agree with Dan,

I don't have much trouble rooting the cuttings, It's the next step that has been eating my lunch.(too much moisture, not enough moisture)

i never thought it would be this fun when i started. I believed it was like any other plant  but boy was i wrong....its an addiction.
