My Sincere Thanks

My sincere thanks to all for your concern and offer of figs.  To Jon, Jen, Martin, Bass, any anyone I missed I didn't lose any of my mature figs just this years tender cuttings that were just about ready to mail, nice little plants,  to members who have sent me figs in the past. I'm now looking like a piker for not holding up my end.

I'm very thankfull that I had no serious damage to my house or property and had no personal emergency. My only worry was the isolation and cold and eventually food. So many have giant trees through their homes. Para Medics couldn't get to some people. Their response was slow due to blocked roads and they had to walk for a mile or more. We were the only town in the State hit this badly. Those that have Wells ran out of water too.

The storm was strange. The two houses next to me, in a stright line, have countless trees uprooted and split. I have a row of very old trees that except for branches down are otherwise untouched. On the other side of my house they had a large Trampoline on the lawn. It was picked up and deposited 35 ft. away behind their garage, right side up but rather twisted. For 5 days I had to drive under four 100 ft. trees that came down on one side of the road and were held up on the other side by wires or other trees.

This is the worst storm here that I can remember and I'm no spring chicken. We have now had three beautiful sunny warm days with the buzz of saws and trucks hauling away debris.

I'm tired but fine and again thank you all.

Peg

Whenever you are ready, my offer before the storm hits still stand.

Paully
