I deleted my thread because the argument marathon had hijacked my thread.
Didn't know you could do that. I like it. "This is my thread so keep it civil or it will be deleted."
So, if your thread does not go your way you just delete it.How does that help?Oh well, what do I care.Doug
Some forums allow moderators to lock threads that go off the rails. You can see the old posts, but not add to the chaos. I think deletion or lock is a good tool.
@Doug - I started the thread to try to make peace and a couple of the guys who were engaged on the "Battle Thread" started the same stuff on my thread. It is my thread and I can do what I want with it, I will not tolerate that crap. I believe in free speech, in its place.
In general I would be upset if a thread I was posting on just disappeared. But since the thread was "please be nice" and arguments started there, I can understand the choice.I prefer the lock option as I feel like I "own" my posts and wouldn't want them to just disappear.
What happened?
A "lock" option would be better, I think there is a "lock" feature on Youtube.
I hope it wasn't my post that caused it. If it was I apologize. I notice a lot of posts were deleted that were not yours and I'm very relieved to see it. Maybe now we can get back to helpful fig discussions.
Too much bickering lately, not enough fig talk...
Off meds maybe, or cabin fever, who knows. Somewhere there may be a clock ticking down, time for another forum fight, LOLI have seen a couple on this forum and it seems that they always end with the loss of good members.
