Despite having FmV this plant grows very well for me going into its 3rd year and will produce ripe figs , last season its 2nd it produced ripe figs for first time and they were pretty good this season a little more mature it will produce more figs .
Im just keeping busy today keeping my mind off the dentist appointment
this afternoon so i take some pictures.  ; )

Great pictures Martin, thank you.

Except for some older in ground figs (Italian Honey; Brown Turkey; Chicago Hardy; and LSU Purple & Gold) I'm relatively new to growing figs.  Your pictures do confirm that my Texas Blue Giant and Violette de Bordeaux both have this virus as well.  I'm not concerned though.  I have been an organic gardener for decades, so our operating policy is if they live that's great, if not plant something else.

And I feel your pain brother, I am going to the dentist Monday.  At least you will be done today!  ;-)

Best wishes.

Hi Martin,
I have 2 VdB`s . 1 from jelly cup made it and other that you gave me last fall . one shows singns of FMV and other looks fine hope they will put good growth this year.
One of my SAL`s cuttings have figlet forming - not surprized it was 2 year old wood cutting .
I will post pics later.

Martin you vdb looks great, here are some of your plants children.

Hi John, lol.... not done yet !
yes like most i hate going to dentist, had 1 back bottom tooth pulled recently .
After she gave me full checkup and 18 xrays poked around to measure millimeter of my depth  i now need a deep cleaning into the gums to keep the bone structure from further deteriating not the average teeth cleaning, 4 cavities also need to be taken care of. Its best to save my teeth from here on in. Its all worth in for me cause them tooth aches are something else !
Onto figs

Remis im glad that gel cup worked for you, the ones i had all failed, im betting you will like the taste of the that type of figs one day.

Nelson good for you ! They look great. Nice to hear from you also.
Always nice to spread the family around and make lots of babies.  ; )

These two issue could be related Martin: Maybe you are eating too many sugary figs!  ;-)

Despite the challenges, I hope the dental process goes as well as it can for you, and that you have a great growing season.

With the drought over our figs are growing like weeds.

Very best wishes.

Thank you Martin.  I always enjoy reading your posts, and it is a great pleasure to be able to share with other gardeners.  To me gardening is a wonderful, almost magical experience: You plant that stick, seed, etc., and with some care in time it turns into something truly wonderful.

And this forum is so positive, with good people sharing pictures of their gardens, helping others.  In a world with too many troubles it seems, this is a great place to visit.

I look forward to reading your future posts as well my friend.

Best wishes.

I have not seen roots on one of the plant airlayers yet but did notice water bottle had slipped down stem no big deal it should stay now that way.  ; )
On another plant these started showing roots it was started same time
June 2nd .
I notice what looks like green moss on potting soil, it was wetted once when started but we had lots of rain as i never had to water it and im sure rain snuck in , green stem not girdeled is getting full sun with no cover on bottle and good ole fashion duck tape to hold it all together.
This water bottle method idea from Jon is fun to experiment with,  cut both sides and tape it up.
One water bottle is almost complete size other bottle was cut in half , potting soil was used only nothing else added.
