ok, with all this posting of figs, I just wanted to share.

I have several figs still on my Brown Turkey that didn't get a chance to ripe (only a few weeks old).  The wind chill is bringing the temp down to feel like 11°F, and we will have nothing but 18°F - 20°F nights the next week....the figs will never survive till spring. 

So I went ahead and cut one off for the heck of it, photo'd it and cut it open.  I always wondered what it looked like inside an unripe fig that turned color.  Well, here you have it.....

although not ripe due to weather i thank you for taking the time to post the pictures of your fig.
Hopefully next season will be a good one for most of us if not all !

it looks so good on the outside!  but the inside is another story.  i still have yet to taste a brown turkey that i like.
