So, figsters in the USA....has this fig reached our shores?
Is there an English name to identify this fig variety?
Is it possible to buy this variety in the USA, and, who retails this variety, commercially/privately?
Does it need a wasp?

I also would love to try growing some golden doorknobs.

Frank

EDIT:  I read that Shanghai has a climate that's similar to parts of Florida....so maybe this fig variety -whatever it is -  will do well here.

looks so yummy, i can taste the sweetness, LOL
ok, so... who has the cuttings to exchange?
I can provide some cuttings from the varieties that you see on my profile. the Black and White. they are both very sweet and full of honey when ripped.

What does the "Zao Huang" mean? Is that someone's name?

Just so you all are not surprised, I ordered the Jen Ao Fen off eBay in Oct, 2012. They did not make it and I never asked for replacements.

Last week the US Ag dept paid me a visit wanting to confiscate these cuttings/trees. I wasn't home but they left me a note to contact them.
They are getting the shipping addresses of winning bids from eBay and WILL come knocking sooner or later. It took them a year and a month to visit me.
So please stop buying cuttings from China. There's a nasty fig beetle if imported could devastate the fig trees in the States. They lay their eggs in the pith of the stem so could easily be imported without your knowledge. Harvey mentiones this in another recent post.

This is a very beautiful looking Fig. Since it originates in Northern China, it should also be quite cold-hardy. Would it be possible to get some cuttings of this nice fig to Germany?

Search for Tashkent or Sarizybek...likely the same Anatolian fig

I posted about Chinese figs a while ago. This is what I found. Can't guarantee it's 100% correct, but it's what I came up with.

Like most of you I like to collect figs. The Chinese varieties have caught my eye, so In an effort to weed out the renamed varieties From the true Chinese varieties I have started a list.

Are these real Chinese Figs?

A1213 ???
A132 (Bo Ji Hong) Brooke Shields Red
A212 (Jin Ao Fen) Golden Orphan
B1011 Yellow/Green fig med-lg.
B110 (Hong Ai Sheng) "Red God Of Love?"
Bu Lan Rui ke (Brunswick)
Feng Chan Huang ???
Fu Jian Bai Mi (Fu Jian is a province , Bai Mi translates "White Rice"
Ma Si Yi (Masui Dauphine)
Mei Li Ya ???
Qing Pi (Dried Tangerine Peel) Herbal Medicine
Wuhan (Zhong Zi) China Purple
Xin Jiang Zao Huang (XJ province, ZH early yellow)
Zi Tao Fen ???

Hope that helps. Maybe someone can fill in the blanks.
