Ok , I have been a fig owner only since April and as I have mentioned in a previous post I bought three figs from Willis Orchards. The first ripe figs from a tree labeled as Desert King were bright blue in color. The next batch of figs on the same tree were purple. Well now a few days later the largest of the figs is ripe and they are brown in color. Is this a newby problem on my part or what the heck is happening to my fig tree. Here is the latest pictures of my crop.

That would be a Celeste, Very nice fig, but not DK. DK would not have a main crop apart from being pollinated by "the wasp" which is pretty much unknown outside of California.
So this is what a Willis Orchard Celeste looks like. I ordered two but I received two other type figs. I'm supposed to get the correct figs from Willis this fall but who knows what i'll get. Maybe DK?
I am confused. Is this a picture of a fig on the same tree the blue fig was on, or is this a different tree. This fig looks like a celeste, but that blue fig sure did not look like any celeste I have ever seen.Jeff
Yes it is the same tree that had the blue figs. The first fig on the tree was blue, the next three were blue and purple after that brown and now this color.. Here is a picture of the same tree with the first blue fig and then tlast night.
I didn't see any pics of blue figs, or purple ones.....noss
Sorry my computer locked up. I will try again.Linda
Linda,"Desert King" is a green-skinned Fig.Take a look at my website: http://sites.google.com/site/kiwifruitsalad2under the headings of Light Color Fig Photos and Figs on the Tree to see what "Desert King" should look like. It's apparent Willis needs to get their act together!kiwibobSeattle
saw your site kiwibob, I notice that you are very detail in your photo very nice. I especially like the layout of the 5 LIGHT COLOR FIG PHOTOS
I must stop looking at everyones websites. You are very artistic people. Cornell has been researching Kiwi's at their test farm. We have a local selling fruit at our Otsiningo Farmer's market. I looked into growing Kiwi's myself back in 1984 before I bought this farm. Your site makes me want to do a bit of research again. :)Linda
