So this morning I noticed this older fig tree while driving along the bayou, it was planted right on the bayou side. I was suprised to see it was a light colored fig and not a celeste in south La. The tree was taken care of but no one picks the figs cause they all just falling to the ground. It's across the road from a few houses so I'm not sure who the owner is. I was hoping some would come talk to me while I was checking it out but I didn't see anyone. They are nice big figs, with a sweet honey flavor and a drop of honey fills the eye. I will go back and hopefully find the owner. Can anyone name this fig?

Thanks ya'll, I will go back in the morning and see if u can get a few cuttings and s few figs. It's not uncommon to spot a fig tree in every other yard down here but 9 out 10 it is celeste or brown turkey, very seldom can you find a light colored fig just by driving around. 

Ryan:By all means ,get some cuttings,because,i can see ,This cultivar ripe very well in your climate.
In mine,I grew it but it will not ripe properly,only once in a while like every third year.
Not enough long hot Summer here ,for  it.

I did get a few cuttings this morning, it's been a dry,season here so far and those figs are really good, I'm not sure how it will do in the wet summers though.

Hmm looks like a good fig variety for your area. It looks like kadota but it also looks a little bit like a peters honey or Italian golden honey IMO
