Pics of my Napolitana fig from the 2010 season. It died last winter. Nonetheless, it was a outstanding fig.

Had a chance to get my hands on it. Passed. Now I kick myself for not getting it.

Dennis, you're a lucky man. Lost my tree in the shed when the electric heater's thermostat had malfunctioned and it was off for few days. Exterior color of its main crop is truly amazing. The figs are about the same size as NdC, sometimes just a little bigger.

Here is a photo of its Breba that I found in my pictures file.

Hello, Navid.

Beautiful looking fig.

I am curious, perhaps you might know, are :
"Napolitana Negra"  " Napolitana " ,  " Napolitana No. 1 Black " and
" Neopolitaine " one and the same fig?

Thanks,

Navid, this is why you need to send a piece of each hard to find fig tree to a grower in South Florida as insurance in case they freeze/die... so you can get a plant back....  no charge for this service..LOL  and of course I volunteer to be a caretaker... I've done similar task very successfully with high end orchids for similar reasons...

NIck,

I do not think this fig (Napolitana) was the BC's #39 Fico Nera Napolitano. Since they had described its fruit as being "small to medium". Figs from my tree were a bit larger than Blk Mission or NdC.
Unfortunately I am not familiar with the other two that you had asked (Nap. # 1 & Neop.).

Here is the description of BC's #93;
Fico Nera Napolitano-A popular Napolitano fig from Naples also called Fico Piccolino. Small to medium, purple/black, blood red center.

Ben,

You said it precisely correct, but I had not anticipated to have any issues with winterizing them in my shed. One thing for sure this winter I will not use one of these (below).

Thats the Belleclare fig i have been trying to aquire since 2009 when i posted about it and recently this season.
I think its out of my reach though .

Edit: only saying as BC #93 was mentioned in above post that it is a fig i would like to aquire.
I no way was it meant to mean that the others in this thread may be that fig.

One day it will pop up only for this reason alone: You never know who may join the forum at any point.

Not to add to the confusion, but I forgot one...

Failed to mention I recently picked up a Napolitana.

But mine is labeled:

Napolitana Negra 2

I have NO idea which one of the now 5 Napolitana's out there it is.

My head hurts....
