Nasty wind/rain storms vs. potted figs.

Just wondering what everybody does with their potted figs when there are storms with severe wind and rain. Do you let them ride the storm out?
I normally would carry/drag them back into the garage. The problem this year is, I'm going from 20 trees, ages 2-8 and adding another 150 or more smaller pots.

We get a lot of extreme weather here.  This weekend we had sandstorms and gusts up to 57 MPH.  The wind blows a lot of the pots over, and some soil is lost, but the figs do just fine.  The wind also blows the drip lines out, so that must be checked too.

The only damage I've gotten is on grapevine canes.

The lightening storms usually happen in August.

Funny you should ask. I was just contemplating that as I heard thunder

SoniSoni, I am just west of you and it is pouring and thunder/lightening

We had a bad lightning storm yesterday and I brought my pots inside.

If you believe in prayer, do it, LOL, if you believe in fate, it is only a question of time because if they are going to die, they are going to die.  I prefer to watch, worry, clean up the mess!

As your collection grows, it becomes harder and harder to move them back and forth. Once mine are out they are out.

There was a chance of a hail storm here a couple of weeks ago.  I brought in my most prized four figlets even though I had doubles.  The others had to ride the storm out.  I looked out the window in the worst of the storm and it looked like a hurricane blowing through, but no hail.  Everything was fine the next morning.  I'm a firm believer in letting nature run its course.

I keep mine along the house or beside the garage out of the wind.

We had hail the size of marbles last night. The potted figs came through like champs! The peppers and angels trumpet on the other hand have big holes in the leaves from the hail. Today they are pretty sure they object to being pelted with ice balls and are letting me know about it.
They'll come back around or they won't. I kind of practice the same thing with the figs. My very first ones got so babied and I was having trouble but I decided to let nature take it's course and they are doing great.
I'm with you Steve.

I have some pots on the top rail of my deck...they come down to ground level...all other potted figs ride it out where they sit.

no figs on the trees yet, so i don't have to worry about them blowing up. they stay outside.

We had a nasty storm with heavy wind and rain that came through last night.  I haven't checked the potted plants yet...kinda scared to.

I think that's the same one we had a couple of nights ago.
I just checked my figs this morning and again, after tons of rain they all seem very happy and noticable new growth.

It's kind of scary going out to check "the morning after" I hope everything is well with your plants Frank.
