In a Mediterranean type climate this variety appears to be a definite keeper!  Is yours kinda small, Harvey?  I'm trying to figure out where to plant it in ground this year when it goes dormant.  I'm hoping it grows large and has many figs!

Suzi, my tree is probably 10 times in size than it was last year at this time.  It is maybe 5' tall and as wide and was planted in the ground in August 2013.  I don't think it's a very vigorous tree but is probably able to become quite large ones it gets established.

Harvey my friend, you have the gift!  Beautiful pic.  I gave my backup tree away 2 years ago to a forum friend.  I hope its doing well.   My 6 foot NdA almost died last year.  I had it on the cull pile but decided to give the root ball one more try.  Good thing I did!  After soaking the root ball in some rooting solution for a day, the tree came back to life.  I chopped it down to nothing and today it's coming back from the root ball.  NdA is one underrated must have fig.  And so is Zidi......if you have the wasp!

Beautiful picture Harvey. I was able to root one of your cuttings of HdA and it was growing great until I moved it up to a 5 gallon pot. Now it's struggling with HMV and growing slowly. It's in afternoon shade, but I think the heat is its problem and not the HMV. I might move it to my "intensive care" area of my yard where it would get more TLC. There's one fig on it but since it's a first fig, it probably won't be that great.  

Mara, you mean fig mosaic virus (FMV)... right?  Not HMV.

  I was able to get a long (19"?) cutting of Hative de Argentile at the Santa Rosa scion exchange today.  I only needed 7" for a start, so if anyone is seeking it, I'd love to trade you for the balance.   Your trade doesn't have to be a fancy variety, only tasty!  (I'm looking to expand my waistline, not my pocketbook! (Hee Hee)
