Native De Argentile

My Native De Argentile plant.
Figs not pictured but i will be able to sample some this season, i just let plant grow this season no pruning.

That is a very healthy plant, Martin.
It appears to be 2 years old by the looks. When are you going to start pinching/pruning to give it your usual pretty looking shape like your other plants?

Hi Akram good to see you type its been a while no?   ; )
This plant came to me later in summer of 2008.

I decide to let many of my plants grow wild this one included and probably bring some scion to auction late winter.

Its time will come eventually to shape it though.
Miss you postings.

Good looking Fig tree.  Is that a blue tarp under the mulch?  I just started putting down more mulch around my raised beds.  I'm really tired of pulling weeds.  I'd just like to mulch the whole yard.

TMC, cracking up yes thats my lousy job and its a blue tarp that been there close to 20 years. I did use neighbors advice and pitch fork to poke a fewe hols in it for rain to drain.
Its solid clay under that and rain still will pool up in that area but quickly dry in nice weather as those rocks heat up nice and plants like it here in my climate thats why there .
Thanks

That thing is huge.  I have a couple via UCD, heavily FMV infected, not fast grower by any means.

Hi Jason,
yours will get there im sure as time goes by. This one was stubborn also at first and this spring displayed Fmv in a bad way now looks much better.

Darm Fmv i think is the all time champ at Hide and Seek especially as season marches on.
Then next spring it shows it self and says "I'm back"

I chopped down and start over after one main branch just snapped off early in season when moving container and i did not like afterwards the way it looked.
Now still with original root system it should grow fast again.

Plant grew some in last 2 weeks and started putting on a few main crop.

Another 2 weeks later i now top off plant .
Its grown nice and will make a nice shape tree for me.

Great pictures, love seeing the progress Martin!!!

Nice looking plant Martin,
Is that on the patio?

Update on mine:  The two rooted from UCD three years ago are still less than 12" tall and 8" tall, respectively.  The one I rooted last January from UCD is almost 5' tall.  Go figure?

Rafed its on the back end of patio and right next to one of the deadliest plants one can have in garden my Oleander , make sure to take a moment to smell the flowers they wont hurt i do that everyday , the smell is the best from a flower i have even experienced im serious,  just don't touch it leaves and pick your big nose afterwards.  ; )

Jason i would enjoy seeing picture of your plant whenever you have the time.

This is my Hative de Argentile from UCD 2010, it has FMv, but not terrible.  It has been somewhat slow grower but seems healthy enough.  No figs yet. That is a pot Logo from Monrovia, nothing else.

C.H. yes sir we have same ucdavis cultivar . Matter of fact mine was similar shape but on larger scale when i was moving it one of those main branches snapped right off. So in short i chopped down and let a sucker grow down low to manage this now shown.

Always got a kick out of this one on tree when it was bigger plant.
