There's currently a project in Mulga, Western Turkey to find the origins of different varieties of fruit trees that these people fed on for many generations.
The person involved goes to the farmer markets and look for different fruit and take pictures and asks to photograph the original tree, and if the cuttings were obtained from somewhere else she asks to see that also.
