Navid's Unknown Dark Greek AWESOME!

I usually eat the fruits from this tree before I get my camera ready.  This one miraculously survived long enough to photograph. This is one awesome fig! In 9 months it has gown to 7 feet tall and has put out a ton of delicious figs in its first year. If I could compare it to anything, I'd say it is kind of like a MBVS on steroids.  It regularly produces some larger sized figs, and this one is definitely on the small side.  One of the best tasting figs in my collection.

Looks like a fig with some thick goodness. My kind of fig.

Looks awesome and tasty Mario ! I was also kind of looking at that fig for my collection. Did you grow it from a cutting? Thanks for posting Navid's UDG !

That fig looks a nice size the larger fruit is definitely a bonus.

Richie, it is!
Larsb, Yes from a cutting. I'd suggest it for anyone's collection.
Tinyfish, The larger fruit are nice.  Its not a jumbo  variety, but it does put out some nice sized figs.

Navid mailed me a little Navid's Dark Greek about 6 months ago.  I was moving to Guatemala..  I couldn't take the whole tree through customs, but I got four little cuttings off of it, and two survived :)  Here's a picture of one (below).  I gave the remaining root ball/tree to one of my best friends and it is doing great as well.  My friend, Anthony, is starting a school of agriculture and missions in Arkansas and already has one acre of figs planted from my prior little fig nursery in Oklahoma.  Thanks Navid.

I got a tip cutting of Navid's Unknown Dark Greek in February this year from Harvey and it has some small greenbuds on it for a few months now but does not seem to want to break out and push leaves like some of the other cuttings. I have it in a tall 4x4 container with Parafilm over it outside. Hope it can do something this summer at least grow leaves.
