Wow, it does look tasty!  How did you find it - did you take a trip there?  It's great that it has a short enough season to ripen in Ohio; it should do well in a lot of locations then.

Can you describe taste?

Very nice, Marius!
Should we add the Unk. to the name though?

I'm speechless that you're speechless, Marius, you've tasted so many great figs! Wow. Is the tree very old? If it's young, the taste may even get better. Wow!

That looks nice on the inside Marius. I have wondered where you were located, good to know this is a common fig. I'd also like to hear a description of the flavor. How old is this plant, did it take a while to produce figs?

Mike in Hanover, VA

Hi Marius
I got a Nazarati from UCD this year and it rooted nicely but didnt take the transition to the outside very well. Im guessing yours is the same type of fig ??

A couple stopped by my house to look at my fig trees yesterday and said his mother, who is from New Jersey gave him a fig tree from Nazareth three years ago.  I'm going to look at it tomorrow.  Those are beautiful and I'm hoping my friend has similar.

Marius, first nice, next, how does it hold up to the rain and humidity? Seems to have a closed eye. Did you say this is a common fig and this is the main crop??

Looks like "Sbayi" fig.

Hi Marius.
That's a beautiful looking fig, I hope it becomes available soon.
Vito

Congratulations!

Marius, For sure its not a nazrati fig (the leafs are way out of match)

looking at the shape of leafs and fruit  it looks like a shtawi (late ripener). could be sbayi too.

was is the last to ripen for you? are the leafs extra thick?

Eli,i will post some more pix today. Is a young plant,2 year old.Mother plant is behind a bakery in Nazareth city.A relative of my wife owns the bakery...when they bought it,36 years ago,the tree was there.....

That's a very interesting looking fig Marius. Are those cracks all running longitudinally?

Exactly.

Nice, seems like I've seen this fig before from a fig friend in either Portugal or Spain I can't remember. I'll try and see if I can't find that info for you and maybe some pictures to compare.

Thanks Marius for answering my question, you've been very helpful.

Nice fig Marius. Thank you for sharing the photos!

it looks like Sbayi fig from outside. the flesh is a bit more reddish than the sbayi that i have.
i assume its a very sweet one

i think its a sbayi too. i saw francisco had similar figs too:

Marius if you have it is a great fig, that why they call it "spotted", it was so good they had it planted everywhere.

I've enjoyed watching the video. The guy knows how to graft and makes it look so easy. I will definitely try some grafting using his method.

Thanks for posting the video.

Wow, thank you for IDing this Otmani....now to find a cutting!  Marius, your praise has probably just added this one to many people's want lists :)
